Dear Friends,

Thanks for your love, prayers, and support of Christian FM during our Winter Care-a-thon.

We were blessed and encouraged to hear from so many families along the Treasure and Space Coasts that told us, “We need Christian FM!”  They shared many personal stories of how their lives have been changed by this radio ministry. In terms of the number of calls and emails we received, the number of individual pledges has never been higher.

At the same time we were touched to see how many of these pledges came from families who have been deeply affected by the current economy. A great percentage of our pledges this Care-a-thon came from people pledging one-time gifts of $5, $10, and $20. Again and again, these Christian FM listeners told us they wanted to participate, but did not know if they would have jobs or incomes this year.

We are believing that God will meet the needs of all of these, and also meet every need of our ministry here at Christian FM.

In this era of amazing technologies we are presented with many opportunities. We also need to constantly learn. One thing we have discovered is that it is now impossible to effectively reach all of our listeners in just 3 days! We live in a time of cell phones, email, computers, and a thousand distractions most people did not have just 15 years ago!

Beginning this year, Christian FM will encourage new supporters throughout the year, and we’ll continually keep you updated on the progress of our pledge drive. On our website, we’ll publish the latest totals. On the air, we’ll plan a special broadcast at least twice a year to share our vision and allow listeners to become part of our team. (Most public stations do at least 2 extended pledge drives, and most Christian stations air between two and four pledge drives each year.)

As I shared during the Care-a-thon, I believe great days are ahead for the body of Christ if we will remember some key principles.  In scripture we see God used seasons of famine and economic upheaval to reposition his faithful for great blessings and strategic advantage. Let’s remain true to what we believe, make Christ’s Kingdom our dearest priority, and our trust in Him will be rewarded.
